After a visit from your regulatory body to monitor the quality of your audit work, the next stage is to respond to the recommendations raised.

With ACCA you have to complete an extremely detailed “root cause analysis”. This can be a difficult and very time consuming exercise.

With other Professional Bodies it often involves drafting an action plan for the next few years that will ensure that the weaknesses found on your audit files are rectified.

How you draft your replies or action plan will have a significant impact on the outcome of your visit. If the Regulator does not like your action plan they are unlikely to close off the visit.
